How to get to our holiday rentals in the Midi-Pyrenees: By car:

If you’re coming by car, give yourself plenty of time and maybe even look at stopping over half way through your journey.

There are no hard and fast directions to get to us. The route we have often taken is Calais or Dieppe to Rouen to Chartres to Orleans and then onto the A71, A89, A20 and then A64.

The auto routes are great and usually traffic jam free (beware first weekend of August - French holiday drive time).Make sure you bring lots of loose Euro’s and small notes for the toll roads.

From Toulouse Airport you need to get onto the A64 heading to Tarbes and Lourdes. From Pau you also need the A64, but head in the direction of Tarbes and St Gaudens. Once on this auto route come off at junction 17.

Directions: Once off junction 17 drive towards and through Montrejeau, passing the main town square on your right and onto a pedestrianised type road with the Town hall also on your right.

You will then come to a cross road. Go straight ahead for a short distance and take your first left. As you drive on you should pass the Pompiers on your left. This road is the D34 which will lead into the D71 and should bring you out over the lake and a wonderful view. Continue down this road, over the train crossing and you will come to Aventignan.

Go through this village, following the signs to Lombres. This road is still the D71. Once at Lombres you will see the Cheese farm on your left and a tree in a roundabout. Take the road to your left (D73)  signposted Generest and follow it, across the river and along for approximately five minutes.

You will come into Generest at the Petanque "pitch". Turn left into the village, over the bridge, take your first left then first right and we are the second house on your left. Bon Chance!
